Red Ciudades is the Latin American Network for just and sustainable cities, working to meet citizens' initiatives to promote social control of public policy. The characteristics of these programs are: the construction of indicators and access to public information, surveys of perceptions of quality of life, monitoring and advocacy on public policy, citizen participation, and the inclusion of different and various sectors. Red Ciudades recognizes the importance of active citizenship in promoting and achieving true transformation, and that these transformations require further transformation of the state.
