International Projects

Over the past 15 years, SCI has worked with cities on projects that demonstrate how to be more sustainable.

We work with cities, towns and regions in developed and developing countries with projects in such diverse places as South Africa, China, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Mexico and throughout North America.

Believing that the wisdom of a city lies with its people, we work collaboratively, bringing different sectors, disciples and demographics together. Our projects are designed to connect and mobilize people around technological and social innovations for urban sustainability.

We conduct practical demonstration projects in partnership with cities and stakeholders to show how urban sustainability can be implemented and to support long-term planning. What we do includes youth-led development, urban greening, local economic development, energy efficiency, waste management, women's empowerment and sustainability literacy and education. How we do it is through participatory planning processes and capacity building.
