Project Description

ICSC was hired by the Province of British Columbia to elaborate upon the concept of resilient communities, building upon the paper the Province had completed for the World Urban Forum III . ICSC took the BC model and explored similarities between the mitigation and recovery processes involved in responding to disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes, and those involved in longer term crises such as climate change, invasive species and resource depletion. ICSC also advised the Province on ways in which it might present their learning at the World Urban Forum , and helped bring international experts to participate on panels with the Province.
