Project Description
This project improved the decision–making process for transportation policy in the Silesian Region. ICSC assisted staff at the Municipal Public Transportation Authority of the Upper Silesian Industrial District (KZK GOP) to develop and organise a public consultation process. KZK GOP was able to improve its governance capacity through the use of a Canadian style participatory consultation mechanism, which facilitated a more democratic decision–making process at the local level. The Inaugural conference was attended by the Canadian Ambassador, Deputy Marshall of the Silesian Voivodship, and Mayor of Katowice to initiate the Silesian Multi-stakeholder Transportation Consultation Process.
