Project Description

ICSC conducted research with 15 municipalities of the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD) about sustainability - focusing on the social side - including local initiatives and community issues. The results provided a discussion of the concept of “complete communities” within the context of sustainable cities and regions. A review of several approaches to indicators led ICSC to suggest a checklist of issues to be addressed by the GVRD when developing their urban sustainability development plan.
